Where to Get Remodeling Ideas

Every home renovation project begins with an inspiration and an idea. In other words, you need to know how you’re going to remodel your home before you begin your project. If you only know that you want to renovate your living space and you don’t know how you’re going to go about it, here are some places where you can get some ideas.

Pinterest

Depending on who you are, this is either the most obvious or strangest suggestion imaginable, but you can find some great home renovation and decorating ideas from this ultra-popular social network. There are over two billion searches on Pinterest every month, so you can be certain to find at least a few ideas for your next home renovation project in a matter of minutes.

Open Houses

If you want to get a better idea of how a floorplan or decor would look in person, you can always go to an open house if there is one in your neighborhood. During your tour of a home, take notes on what you like about the decor, and see if you can work some of the concepts into your own home.

Magazines

There are countless home improvement magazines out there that can give you ideas for your home. Not only can you draw inspiration from the photos of other newly renovated houses and apartments, but you’ll probably get the names of more than a few products and services that might come in handy during the planning process.

Thrift Stores

Thrift stores can be interesting places to visit when you’re planning a remodel of your home, especially if you prefer a more vintage look. Shop around and look at some antique furniture, lamps, or anything else that you think might be able to spice up your decor. If you happen to find something you really like, you can probably pick it up for a fraction of what you would spend on something new.

Home Improvement Shows

You can also turn on your TV for inspiration if you’re out of ideas. There are shows on networks such as HGTV and TLC that focus on home renovations, and while you probably don’t have the kind of budget that the homeowners on these shows have, you can at least find some inspiration while you watch.

As you can see, you can find ideas for your next home remodeling project practically anywhere.
